CalMac Latest Update 28 May 2020

Covid-19 Customer Update - 28 May 2020

As Scotland takes its first steps to move carefully and gradually out of lockdown, CalMac is working closely with Transport Scotland to implement the Scottish Government's travel and transport guidelines.

Our current essential lifeline timetable will be in operation until at least 14 June 2020. While we work to establish our future timetable with Transport Scotland, no future bookings will be available until at least 14 June 2020.

In the meantime, as we move into phase one of the Scottish Government's route map and implement Transport Scotland's guidelines, the advice remains to stay at home as much as possible, stay local and only travel if your journey is essential. Where your journey is essential, please follow the updated advice on how to travel safely.

We will continue to take our lead from the Scottish Government and Transport Scotland, while working closely with the communities we serve. When we agree our next timetable, it will remain focused on the priority lifeline services and the changing needs and welfare of island communities. It will still look very different to our service during normal times.

We understand travel restrictions are challenging and we are grateful for your patience. We still need your continued support to ensure we protect the island communities we serve and the service we provide. An essential lifeline timetable means there are far fewer sailings available. This, together with the implementation of social distancing measures means our capacity is significantly constrained.

Please continue to be responsible when considering your need to travel so we can ensure our service is available for those who need it most - our island residents and those making essential journeys. Your decision to travel could impact someone else's essential journey.

We will update our customers as soon as we have an update on our future timetable via our website and social media channels. If you have any questions on how this affects you or your plans, or on ferry travel in general, please go to our dedicated FAQ section of our website. If you do need to cancel a booking, we will of course waive the cancellation fee and you can begin that process by filling out our refund form
